My planetrips with AirAsia were really good (and really cheap!). I can't complain about their service, I can complain about my neighbours on this flight. I was sitting next to chinese Malaysians and they were just awfull! Reading the newspaper in such a way that I had hardly any space, burbing the whole time with their mouth open.... Bleh! As the plane was landing one of them switched on his mobile and that was the moment I was waiting for. I was able to get rid of my agression built up during this flight due to them, haha!
At the airport of BKK the negotiating started again, trying to get a taxi to the office of Jacco. 900 baht! No way! But Miss, this is a new airport and it is far away... Yes, I know, I was here 3 weeks ago and paid 400 baht! Nothing new since then. So in the end I found a Elvis, Bee-gee and Lionel Richie singing taxi driver who drove me for 400 baht to here. Such a funny man. When he told me that he loves singing I asked him to sing something for me and he just kept on going :-D So, I gave him a tip in the end. Now he's got the plan to come and visit me in Holland, singing Love me Tender from Elvis again. Oops!
In Kualalalala Lumpur I had the best time! It felt like I had a holiday from my holiday ;-) Clean sheets, good pillow, nice smelling towel, my own toilet and bathroom, very nice bed.... And some good company as well! It was 2 years ago since I saw Marleen, but it seemed like yesterday. I also met Kia, the boyfriend of Marleen, who I've only got to know via her weblog and pics.
After the first day where I visited in the morning the Towers while Marleen was working, we had a relaxing day yesterday in the waterpark. But first some more about my trip going there and my first morning.
At the airport of Chiang Mai I got to know a director of a traveltouroperator in Kuala Lumpur, specialized in golfholidays. During the flight he paid for my drinks and food and afterwards he was always somewhere around me. For example, after I got my luggage, he was waiting at the exit for accompanying me to the busses. Of course I look like a person in need ;-)
During the trip in the bus he was the best host you could imagine. I asked something about Malaysia as I was not prepared and he told me so much about the politics, economics, religion, climate, etc, etc. Extremely friendly guy. And for my friends back home in Holland: they don't expect anything in return over here, not even old guys helping a young lady ;-)
After my visit to the Towers in Kuala Lumpur I decided to walk back to Marleen her house. I had no map or anything, I just had a good view from the KL Tower and thought to use the KL Tower and the Twin Towers as landmarks. But first I had to go to the jungle around the KL Tower to get back on the streets again. For real, this is a jungle, but that's something I just realized when I arrived at the exit. One of the employees pointed me this exit via jungle as the shortcut and best way to go down and so I did. I got stuck in this gaze of tracks, bridges, bamboos etc. No exit at all! After walking around for 30 minutes (I didn't want to turn around and go the same way back up to the tower, too simple!) I found the road and the exit. With a sign to be carefull for snakes, scorpions and other dangerous species. And I was standing there on my flipflops..... Ooops again!
Luckily my trip to Marleen her appartment went amazingly well. Not one time did I took the wrong way! I was really proud of myself!
Yesterday we went to the waterpark for a relaxing day. As we were not allowed to take any drinks or food inside we did of course! Hiding it in our backpacks, in our underwear (the clean ones in our bags of course ;-)), we managed to smuggle this inside as the guys didn't want to check our underwear. Hey, this is a muslim country, so this really works! The negative side of being in a muslim country is the fact that you can't swim in your bikini without being checked out. So we were swimming in t-shirts, but still are the special guest stars on many movies shot yesterday by those muslim guys, yak! In the evening we went for such good food, at of course, the KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre), where the Twin Towers are. We took all kind of starters, shared this and finished with coffee at Starbucks. The dessert was of course a photosession of the Twin Towers by night! Fortunately it stopped raining again (Malaysia has got a tropical climate which means that at this moment there are heavy showers of at least 2 hours on a row on daily base!), but due to this weather there were some clouds hanging around the Towers which gave them a mysterious look. The photos are awesome! (and not 'photoshopped', although it looks like it). I'll try to download the pics as soon as possible, because don't think I'm allowed here :-(
Anyway, time was flying, but we enjoyed! As soon as I will be flying long-haul for KLM, I'm coming to visit Marleen again!
But tonight.... flying to Ko Samui! Bounty island, here I come.... :-D
Palmtrees, white beaches and clear blue coloured see... I already here the tropical music!
PS: I heard about the stormy, stormy weather back home, so I hope everyone is ok and the weather is more quiet now...

Lijkt me heerlijk!
Liefs en een kus x -
